Let there be light
Light is God’s gift, so use it. Adding natural light to a bathroom will give it a more spacious feel. If possible, install larger windows into the bathroom to bring in additional light. If you cannot do anything to the windows then try adding a sconce to increase illumination. A sconce is a nice fixture that goes really well with bathrooms.
Install a Frameless Shower Door
Frameless shower doors are clear and allow you to see into the shower. If you install these then that will create a clear line of sight that extends all the way to the shower walls. This will expand what your guests will see when they walk into the bathroom which will make the room feel larger than it is.
Add Neutral Colors
Neutral colors have been a new fad among homeowners. Adding a nice light grey or a soft light eggshell white to the bathroom walls will give it a much larger feel. Try to choose a color that goes well with your shower tiles or the tile on the bathroom floor. Use the same shade throughout the bathroom that will surely bring an impression of harmony and space.
Mirror, Mirror on the Wall
Mirrors reflect light and because they do that, adding some is a great way to expand on a room’s size. Find a mirror that you love. Take into consideration the shape and the size of the mirror and use that to create a focal point. When you find one that you like, remember to look at where you are going to be mounting it. You don’t want to have the toilet be in the reflection.
De-clutter your life.
If you’re like me then you tend to leave most of your toiletries near the sink. This is a bad habit to get into. Rather than keeping them out near the sink get into the habit of putting items away where they belong like under the sink or in your medicine cabinet. Clear surfaces, rearrange and organize cabinets to get rid of any unwanted clutter. Lastly, only leave out daily essentials such as a toothbrush or hand wash soap. The more items that you can store away the more you can make your bathroom seem bigger.
Use these tips to help expand the overall sense of space inside your bathroom.
